Darlington F. Marks Jr.

Darlington F. Marks Jr., 84, of Yeagertown, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 20, 2026, at Celebration Villa of Reedsville. Born Oct. 6, 1941, in Burnham, he was the son of Darlington F. Marks Sr. and Dorothy C. (Eward) Marks. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of over 55 years, Shirley F. (Knepp) Marks, and his sister Doreen Marks.

He is survived by his two sons, David A. Marks and wife, Susan, of Wrightsville, Douglas F. Marks and wife, Tammy, of Lewistown; two granddaughters, Kayla Deibler and husband, Nick, and Shannon Marks; and a sister, Darlene K. Gray and husband, Waldo, of Yeagertown; special nieces and nephews, Darla Rickert, Matthew Gray, James Wagner Jr., and Lisa Stroup.

A 1959 graduate of Chief Logan High School, Darlington spent his early working years at the Viscose before retiring from Standard Steel after 28½ years of service. He was a longtime member of Freedom Avenue United Methodist Church, and volunteered as a Boy Scout assistant leader.

Darlington loved the outdoors going hunting, fishing, camping, and traveling. He cherished time spent with his family, especially his granddaughters. He was an enthusiastic fan of Penn State, the Phillies, the Eagles, and NASCAR.

A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, 108 First Ave., Burnham, with a funeral service to follow at 12 p.m., with Pastor Laura Kyler officiating.

Interment will take place at Birch Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Darlington's memory to Freedom Avenue United Methodist Church.
