Clara V. Smith, 93, of Reedsville, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Willam Penn Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Lewistown.
Born March 3, 1933 in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Blain A. Walter and Dorothy R. (Mackneer) Walter. On Sept. 16, 1951, she married George A. Smith, Jr., who preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 2010.
Clara is survived by: her children, Cathy A. Forsythe, of Lewistown; Nancy J. Ferster & husband, Kurt, of Nashville, Tenn., as well as a son-in-law, Michael R. Tate, of Burnham; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Ruth Rose, of Baltimore, Md.
Along with her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Vicky L. Tate; a son-in-law, Edward M. Forsythe Jr., five sisters and two brothers.
She was a member of Church Hill United Methodist Church and was employed as a tester/inspector for 31 years at Fisher Electronics.
Clara enjoyed sewing and cooking and was well known by her family for her delicious apple sauce. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
