Barbara L. Bubb

Barbara L. Bubb, 88, of Reedsville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at William Penn Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Lewistown.

Born Dec. 8, 1937, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Mary (Carter) Johnson. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy W. Bubb, in 2008; her granddaughter, Lilli Goss; and her brother, Robert Johnson.

Barbara's greatest joy was her family, and she will be lovingly remembered by her children, Tina Goss and her husband, Timothy, of McClure, and David Bubb and his wife, Connie, of Reedsville; her grandchildren, Nicole Chambers and her husband, Clint, Tobin Wyland and his wife, Susan, Troy Bubb and his wife, Ashley, Alyse Wyland, and Trent Goss; her step-grandchildren, Megan McCalips and Tyler Goss; her great-grandchildren, Teagan Pisko, Sawyer Chambers, Ansley Wyland, Mack Chambers, and Wyatt and Raegan Bubb; her step-great-grandchildren, Aida and Holden McCalips, and her siblings, Maurice Johnson and wife Vicky, of Lewistown, Darla Johnson, of Lewistown, and Beverly Eby, of Yeagertown.

Earlier in life, Barb was employed by the Arrow Shirt Factory in Lewistown before beginning a career at Lewistown Hospital, where she worked as a housekeeper for more than 20 years before her retirement. She was a devoted member of Reedsville United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed being part of R.U.M. Cooks and was especially known for making their famous raisin-filled cookies.

Barb also served as a bus stop monitor in Lumber City, a role that allowed her caring and nurturing spirit to touch the lives of countless children. To many in the community, she was much more than a familiar face at the bus stop, she became a trusted presence and a second mother, offering kindness, encouragement, and a watchful eye to generations of children.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2026, at King Funeral Home and Crematory, 47 Carriage House Lane, Reedsville, with Pastor Darrell Wireman officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather for a viewing at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Burial will follow in Church Hill Cemetery.
