Sara A. Clugh

Born on Aug. 2, 1939, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Walter H. and Nancy (Spagnoletti) Filson. She was preceded by her husband, Robert C. Clugh and a daughter, Michelle R. Clugh.

She is survived by numerous special nieces and nephews, and a sister-in-law, Marta Fox, of Lewistown.

In addition to her parents, husband, and daughter, she was preceded in death by a brother, James M. Filson and a sister-in-law, Atha Workinger.

Sara had several jobs throughout her life, but she became a homemaker and enjoyed traveling to Emerald Isle, N.C., with her husband and daughter. She later spent her summers at Locust Campground.

Sara was a very giving person who made quilts for family and friends. She also found joy in her church and a special group of ladies who made blankets to send to other countries. Another hobby she had was crocheting baby blankets and donating them or giving them as gifts.

She enjoyed family gatherings at her nephew’s home and having breakfast on Sunday mornings with her cousins.

She also had a special cat named Callie, who gave her companionship and joy in her life.

She was a member of Reedsville Lutheran Church.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at Church Hill Cemetery with Pastor Carla Volland officiating.
