Elsie M. Miller
Elsie M. Miller, 87, of Mifflintown, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at the home of her granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Danielle and Matt Hollinger, surrounded by love and family.
Born Dec. 27, 1938, in East Salem, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Charlotte (Swartz) Fogleman.
Elsie spent her life building her home and family in Mifflintown. Alongside her husband, Carl Edward Miller, she spent decades living on the Christmas tree farm until his retirement at age 65. A talented and dedicated seamstress, Elsie worked her entire life at Lyons Fashions and Orweco until her own retirement, taking immense pride in her craft.
Throughout their years together, Elsie remained deeply loyal and dedicated to her marriage and her home. Following Carl’s death in 2010, she lived independently, keeping a quiet and private residence. Elsie possessed a deep, quiet strength and an unwavering dedication to those she loved. She was always there whenever her family needed her. Her quiet presence and lifelong kindness will be deeply missed. In her final days, she beautifully rededicated her life to Christ and was baptized in the hospital at her own request, bringing immense peace to her heart.
She is survived by six children, Karen Sue Brambley and her husband, Dan, Gary Miller and fiancÈe, Tammy Filler Nealman, Michael Miller and his wife, Trish, Donnie Miller and his wife, Tami, Bonnie Miller and partner, Randy Gibbons, and Scott Miller and his wife, Tammy and her stepdaughter, Kathy Fultz, whom Elsie loved and raised as her own from the age of three. Also surviving are five siblings, Harld Fogleman, Kenny Fogleman, Larry Fogleman, Bob Fogleman, and Betty McNaughton, seven grandchildren, Shawn, Danielle, Gary Lee, Travis, Chad, Mila and Kohen, three step grandchildren, Becky, Amber and Tabitha; 14 great-grandchildren and seven step great- grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Kody, who passed away tragically at age 18 in 2008 and great-granddaughter, Harper, who tragically passed as a newborn.
There will be a viewing at Guss Funeral Home, Inc., 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown on Saturday, June 20, from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Judy Rowles officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Mifflintown.
