David H. Arentz
David H. Arentz, 81, of Lewistown, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, June 1, 2026.
Born on Nov. 2, 1944, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Lee R. and Mae N. (Hockenberry) Arentz. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charlie Arentz.
David is survived by his beloved son, David S. Arentz, of Lewistown; and his sister, Dorothy Niman and her husband, Scott, of Mifflintown.
A dedicated and hardworking man, David devoted 38 years of service to Standard Steel, where he held various positions before retiring in 2007. During his career, he proudly served as a union officer for the labor council, advocating for and supporting his fellow workers.
David found great joy in caring for his home and property. Whether tending to his tomato garden or ensuring his yard was meticulously maintained, he took immense pride in everything he did. An avid reader with a thirst for knowledge, he enjoyed books of all kinds and was rarely without something to read. Above all, David cherished the time he spent with family and friends, especially the Sunday afternoons he shared with his son watching NASCAR together.
