Joseph A. Peachey

Joseph A. Peachey, 65, of Allensville, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026 at Cleveland Clinic in Ohio.

Born on Aug. 5, 1960, in Belleville, he was the son of the late Mahlon J. and Bertha (Kurtz) Peachey. On June 5, 1980, he married Mary E. (Hostetler) Peachey, who survives at their home.

Along with his wife, he is survived by children: Jolene A. Peachey, of Allensville, Monica Akins and husband Jason, of Huntingdon, Juanita Peachey, of Allensville; granddaughters: Makayla, Myeisha and Mariella Akins; siblings: Erma and Kore Kauffman, of Adams, N.Y., Anna and John Lee Zook, of Belleville, Linda and Luke Kurtz, of Friedens, Mary and Ervin Hostetler, of Belleville, Mervin and Lois Peachey, of Belleville, Jonathan and Sara Peachey, of McVeytown; sister-in-law: Rhoda Peachey, of Belleville, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stillborn daughter, Marietta Jean Peachey and a brother, David J. Peachey.

Joseph owned and operated Big Valley Hardwoods in Allensville for 32 years.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially loved his three granddaughters. Family and friends were very important to him. He treasured his many friends. He also enjoyed hunting and being in the great outdoors.

He was a faithful member of Valley View Amish Mennonite Church.

His family would like to extend many, many thanks to family, friends, neighbors, churches, and community members who have extended their prayers, help and support during his hospital stay.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Valley View Amish Mennonite Church, 110 Applehouse Road, Belleville. The funeral service will also be held at the same location on Friday, May 15, 2026 at 10 a.m. with Ministers Luke Kurtz, Jason Peachey, Jesse Zook and Loren Yoder officiating. Burial will take place at Locust Grove Cemetery, Belleville.
