Earl M. Kepner
Earl M. Kepner, 89, formerly of Lewistown, passed away peacefully at his home in Virginia on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.
Born June 20, 1936, in Port Royal, he was the son of the late Alton and Rhoda (McCahan) Kepner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Kepner.
Earl is survived by his beloved wife, Frances (Swartz) Kepner, whom he married on Nov. 22, 1956. Together they shared nearly 70 wonderful years of marriage and were looking forward to celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary later this year. He is also survived by his children, Jeff Kepner and his wife, Pam, of Centre Hall, and Penny Six and her husband, Bruce, of Spotsylvania, Va. Earl was a proud and devoted grandfather to four grandchildren: Trevor, Garrett, Brenna, and Fallon.
Earl was employed as a District Sales Manager with Sire Power, Inc. for more than 40 years, retiring in 2001 after a long and dedicated career.
He was a faithful member of Port Royal Lutheran Church and a member of McVeytown Masonic Lodge No. 376. Earl had a deep love for woodworking and poured his heart into every project he created. He was especially known for crafting beautiful birdhouses, which reflected both his skill and the joy he found in working with his hands.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at New Church Hill Cemetery in Port Royal with Pastor Sam Leister officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to King-Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown.
