Donald C. ‘Pap’ Price Jr.
Donald C. “Pap” Price, Jr., 85, of Lewistown, answered his final call on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Born Nov. 22, 1940, in Granville Township, he was the son of the late Donald C. Price, Sr. and Evelyn Mae (Cupp) Price. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy Lee (Cook) Price, and his brother, John Price.
Don is survived by his loving children, Donald Price III and his wife, Bobbi, Timothy Price and his wife, Sheila, and Holly Gerwick, all of Lewistown, and Tracy Peters and her fiancé, Mark Painter, of Harrisburg. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Fantasia Price; Zachary Hesketh and his wife, Kourtney; Heather Price and her fiancé, Bobby Correira; Dylan Peters and his wife, Dr. Mallory Peterson; Samantha Moon and her husband, Zachary; Lauren Shircliffe and her husband, Evan; and Abby Mingle and her husband, Tyler. He was a proud and devoted great-grandfather to Heath, Levi, Braxton, Tatem, Camden, Gunnar, and Lincoln, with one more great-grandchild on the way.
Don dedicated 43 years of his life to Lewistown Specialty Yarns, where he was known as a talented and hardworking mechanic before his retirement.
He lived a life of service to others. Earlier in life, he volunteered with the McVeytown Ambulance, and later devoted more than 50 years to the West Granville Fire Company. In Strodes Mills, Don was affectionately known as the neighborhood watchäalways keeping an eye out for others, always willing to lend a hand, and always present for his community.
Don found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved hunting and fishing, and treasured time spent traveling to the beach with his family. Above all else, he deeply cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Those moments together brought him his greatest happiness, and the memories he created with them will be held close for years to come.
In keeping with his wishes, no services will be held.
Arrangements have been entrusted to King-Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown.
