Christine M. Wertz

Christine M. Wertz, 69, of Yeagertown, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026, at her home. Born on March 20, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Russell L. McKinley and Maud E. (McCalips) McKinley. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Jeffrey L. McKinley.

Christine shared 49 years of marriage with her husband, Steven. Over the years, they built a life together grounded in commitment, resilience, and deep love for their family. Christine dedicated herself to those she loved, always putting family first and finding joy in time spent together, whether in during celebrations or simple everyday moments.

She is survived by her husband, Steven A. Wertz, her daughter, Amanda N. Crick-Parrish and husband Tyler D. Parrish; her son, Drew S. Wertz and fiancée Courtney D. Fisher; and her beloved grandchildren, Reese S. Crick and Kinsley R. Wertz, who brought immense joy to her life. She is also survived by former son-in-law, Ryan S. Crick.

For close to four decades, Christine worked at Glick’s Shoe Store, where she became known for her kindness, and the friendships she built with coworkers and customers alike. She took pride in her work and cherished the connections she made throughout the years. Christine always believed in supporting local businesses and she carried that throughout her life.

Christine will be remembered for her love of family, her caring spirit, and the many memories she created with those closest to her. Her presence, guidance, and unconditional love will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In honoring Christine’s wishes, there will be no public viewing or funeral service. Her family will celebrate her life privately and cherish the many memories shared with her throughout the years.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made in Christine’s memory to the Mifflin County Library, 123 N. Wayne St., Lewistown, PA 17044, in honor of her love of reading, especially the joy she found in sharing books with her grandchildren.
