Joseph K. Yoder

Joseph K. Yoder, 93, of Allensville, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at Celebration Villa in Reedsville.

He was born on May 5, 1932, in Allensville, to the late Daniel L. and Elsie L. (Yoder) Yoder. On Sept. 27, 1951, he married Beverly J. (Wray) Yoder, who preceded him in death on March 22, 2026, after 74 years of marriage.

Surviving are children: Rodger R. Yoder and wife, Peggy Ann, of Allensville, Peggy G. Finkenbiner and husband, William, of Lewistown; five grandchildren: Robert âBobbyã Sheffield and wife, Carrie, Kimberly Grazier and husband, Christopher, Curtis L. Yoder and wife, Stephanie, Chad M. Yoder and wife, Jaclyn, Craig D. Yoder and wife, Erica; 9 great-grandchildren: Samantha and Chelsie Grazier, Blake, Hannah, Conner, Sadie, Adalena, Noralyn, Camden Yoder; two step-great-grandchildren: Jacob and Autumn Lowenstein.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers: Daniel F. Yoder and wife, Lois, Marlin D. Yoder and wife, Dorothy, and great-granddaughter, Ella Grace Yoder.

He worked at the Belleville Flour Mill for a year, then joined Air National Guard for three years, activated into the Air Force for one year. He then worked at Abbott’s Dairy, which later became Fairmont Foods, until his retirement in 1994 with 40 years of service. In addition, he was also co-owner/operator of Kennedy and Yoder’s Grocery Store in Allensville from 1960 to 1970.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping and camping trips with his family

He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, F&AM Lodge #376 in McVeytown, Jaffa Shriners, Tall Cedars Chapter and Commandry.

A viewing will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, and the funeral to follow at 2 p.m. at Henderson-Bohn Funeral Home, 6880 State Route 655, Reedsville, with Pastor Kenneth Longfield officiating. Burial will be held at Allensville Presbyterian Cemetery.
