Mary M. Byler, 96, of 51 Cortland Apple Ln, Belleville died at 5:25 p.m.. Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2026, at her home.
Born Oct. 25, 1929, in Allensville, she was the daughter of late Joseph E. and Barbara C. (Yoder) Peachey. She is preceded in death by her husband Jesse Z. Byler whom she married on Dec. 7, 1954.
Surviving is a daughter Priscilla B. (Byler) Swarey and husband, David H., of Belleville and grandchildren Jesse U. Swarey and wife, Nancy, of Spring Mills, Stephen E. Swarey and wife, Linda, of Belleville, Benjamin D. Swarey and wife, Lydia, of Allensville, Amos J. Swarey and wife, Sarah, of Belleville and nine great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her two brothers, two sisters, one brother-in-law, three sisters-in-law and one great-granddaughter.
She was a member of the Old-Order Amish.
A viewing was held Feb. 5, 2026, at her residence. Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 6, 2026, at 1 p.m. at the Amos Swarey residence, 148 Wills Rd. Belleville with Bishop John Swarey officiating.
Interment is at Locust Grove Cemetery.
