Dean A. Little
Dean A. Little, 67 of Mifflintown passed away, with his wife by his side, from complications following surgery from pancreatic cancer at 1:18 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 10 ,2026 at UPMC West Shore.
Born on Feb. 19,1958, in Lewistown, Mifflin County, he was a son of the late Harold W. Little and G. Arlene (Seigler) Little. On May 20, 1977, he married his wife, Terry (Freed) Little, with whom he was blessed to share more than 48 years of marriage.
He is survived by his children, Professor Daniel R. Little and wife, Daniele Martinie, of Melbourne, Australia and Sarah N. Creasy and wife, Layna Jones, of Denver Colorado, three grandchildren Elodie and Amila Creasy and Lyshanna Ye. He is also survived by siblings Harold “Tiny” Little, of Virginia Beach, Thomas R. Little, of Mifflin and Tammy M. Little and daughter, Casey, of Thompsontown as well as his mother and father in law, Walter and Beverly Pearson, his brother and sister in laws, David Freed and wife, Robyn, Jon Freed and wife, Brenda, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Dean graduated in 1976 from Juniata High School and in 2005 from Harrisburg Community College with an Auctioneering degree. Mr. Little was a proud veteran having served in the US Army from June 23, 1978, to June 14, 1984, and was awarded two Army Commendation Metals. He worked for 28 years for Schwan’s Ice Cream as a salesman and sales manager. He retired in 2020 from Ehrlich Pest Control. At the age of 50 he became an auctioneer and owned DAL Auctions, LLC.
Mr. Little was a member of Union Lodge No. 324 F&AM of Mifflintown, the Millerstown Moose Lodge, the Newport VFW and the Mifflintown VFW, the Newport Owls Club and was an adjutant for the American Legion Post No. 298, Dean was also a member of the Hunter’s Valley Sportsman’s Association.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 16, 2026, at Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge Street, Mifflintown with Ray Solt officiating after which military burial honors will be accorded by the Juniata County Veterans Council. Interment is private.
A viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan 15 at the funeral home.
