Linda Lee Eckley, 88, a resident of Richfield Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Milroy, passed away on Friday, Oct. 24, 2025 at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital.
She was born on Nov. 12, 1936 in Lewistown to the late William Lee and Hilda Irene (Baumgardner) Hoar. On Oct. 9, 1954, she married John William Eckley, who preceded her in death on Jan. 24, 2021.
Surviving are children: John W. Eckley Jr. and wife, Kathy, of Milroy, Cindy L. Roycroft, of Reedsville, six grandchildren: Heather L. Deppen and husband, Stephen, Jodi L. Sadler, Amanda J. Moeller and husband, DJ, Lindsay Moist and partner, Mike Johnson, Becca Waiwood and husband, William, Daniel Moist and wife, Alex Koons; and 16 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Anita Riden.
Over the years, she worked at Call-a-Ride Service, was a receptionist for Dr. McKinley Dental Office and retired from Armagh Elementary, where she was a cook.
She enjoyed playing Bingo, and baking and cooking for her family. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In earlier years she attended the Milroy Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Milroy CMA Church, and most recently attended the Windyhill Bible Church in Burnham. She loved to sing the old church hymns.
A viewing will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2025 at Henderson-Bohn Funeral Home, 55 N. Main Street, Reedsville. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor John Reed and Harold Eckley officiating. Burial will be at the Salem Cemetery in Milroy.
