Thelma Evelhoch

Thelma LaVera (Vera) Evelhoch, 84, of Lewistown, June 28, 2025.

Born Dec. 22, 1940 in Wilmington, DE, she was a daughter of the late Robert S. and Thelma (Williams) McCall. She was a stepdaughter of the late Christine Crum McCall.

Vera was a 1958 graduate of Carlisle High School. She married Ronald P. Evelhoch in 1962 and dedicated the following two decades to raising four loving children. Vera had a 30-year career with The Bon Ton in Lewiston where many had the privilege of meeting her and knew her for her kindness and great sense of humor.

Surviving are husband Ronald, children Michele A. (Bill) Lewis, of Lewiston, Michael L. (Tammy) Evelhoch, of Mechanicsburg, Pa., Patricia J. McCauley, of New Cumberland, Pa. and Gregory S. (Melinda) Evelhoch, of Easton, Pa., 10 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, Robert McCall, of Calif., a stepsister, Christine Bush of N.J. and two stepbrothers, William Crum, of York and James Crum, of Carlisle. She is preceded in death by her sister Valerie McCall, and stepbrothers, John Crum Jr. and Thomas Crum.

A private service will be held to honor Vera’s life.
