Lester Leroy Yoder, Jr.

Lester Leroy Yoder, Jr., affectionately known as "Butch," passed away in the early hours of April 19, 2025, at the age of 78, in Lakewood, Colo.

Born on Oct. 10, 1946, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Lester L. Yoder, Sr. and Ivalou L. (Snook) Yoder.

Butch is survived by his wife, Beverly Eston of Lakewood, Colo.; his only daughter, Jennifer L. Yoder-Stedman and son-in-law, John Stedman, of Virginia Beach, Va.; his cherished grandchildren, Summer Renee Yoder-Gadoua and her son, Emery, and grandson, Devon Lee Yoder, all of Virginia Beach, Va; and his sister, Susan K. Hartzler (Robert), of Poe Valley.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Evelyn Stuck and Dawn Barger, as well as his brother, Dale "Red" Yoder.

A proud graduate of Kishacoquillas High School, Class of 1965 in Reedsville, Butch was known by his classmates as "Rabbit."

After 50 years of dedicated service in the Tool and Die industry, he retired but continued to work part-time at the local ACE Hardware in Lakewood, Colo., where his helpful nature and willingness to lend a hand were always appreciated.

Butch was an avid gunsmith and hunter who loved the sport of hunting, particularly chasing after the elusive elk he so dearly admired. His passion for the outdoors and his skill as a craftsman were evident in every aspect of his life. Above all, Butch was a kind and genuine man, deeply loved by those who knew him. His presence, warmth, and unwavering generosity will be deeply missed.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date, with a gathering to take place in Lakewood, Colo. May he rest in peace, and may his memory live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
