Darlene K. Snyder, 76, of McAlisterville, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.
Born on Sept. 8, 1948 in Atkinsons Mills, Mifflin County, she is a daughter of the late Robert Glen and Florence Marilyn (Allen) Sunderland.
On June 5, 1971, she married her surviving husband, Lonnie L. Snyder with whom she was blessed to share over 54 years of marriage before her passing.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Lonnie Snyder Jr. and his wife, Stacey, of Thompsontown and Dawn Heimbach and her husband, Greg, of McAlisterville; three grandchildren, Laura McMillen and her husband, Josh, Steven Heimbach and his wife, Jessica, and Erin Heimbach; three great grandchildren, Isaac McMillen, Ezekiel McMillen, and Claire Heimbach; four brothers, Gary Sunderland and his wife, Sharon of Monticello, Ky., Dennis Sunderland of McClure, Larry Sunderland and his wife, Cherleen, of Saltillo, and Barry Sunderland and his wife, Tammy, of McVeytown; one sister in law, Fran Sunderland, of Germantown, Md. and many generations of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Glen Sunderland.
Darlene was a 1966 graduate of Mount Union High School.
She was a member of Cedar Grove Brethren in Christ Church in Mifflintown and enjoyed traveling where she proudly visited all 50 states, enjoyed playing games on her Ipad and shopping; however, her greatest joy came from time spent with her family.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m on Saturday, June 28, 2025 in the Life Center of Cedar Grove Brethren in Christ Church, 287 Deerville Road, Mifflintown with the Rev. Kenneth Hepner officiating. Interment will be private in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Mifflintown.
A viewing will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral services at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Mrs. Snyder's memory to her church, Cedar Grove Brethren in Christ Church, 287 Deerville Road, Mifflintown, PA 17059.
