Blanche May Shellenberger

Blanche May Shellenberger, 97, of Mifflintown, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at William Penn Health and Rehabilitation Center, Lewistown.

She was born on Aug. 9, 1927, to the late Park R. and Dorothy Hubbert. Her husband, Paul R. Shellenberger preceded her in death in Oct. of 1958.

She is survived by her children, Donald Shellenberger (Gail), Loretta Roush (Richard), Paul Shellenberger (Vicki), RuthAnn Graybill, Dan Shellenberger (Kathy) and daughter-in-law, Pam Shellenberger. She is also survived by grandchildren, Kathy Ritter (Mark), Korry Clukey, Preston Shellenberger (Tina), Cheryl Taylor (Larry), Tammy Miller (Greg), Toby Horning (Shelly), Denise Brubaker (Deron), Christopher Shellenberger (David), Amanda Finney (Emanuel), Ashley McHale (James), Rachel Henry (Scott), Nathaniel Shellenberger (Christy), Holly Lasdin (Eric), and Jessica King, 26 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, John (Tom) Shellenberger, grandchildren Tony Barth, Paula Bowersox, Perry Shellenberger and Shelly Lynn Horning (infant).

Blanche worked hard all her life at Juniata Garments and Tony's Cottage Inn and last retiring from Empire Kosher, after which cleaning for Zimmerman Trucking and Cameo Kitchens.

Blanche was a member of Oakland Mills Evangelical Methodist Church, and the VFW Post 5863 Ladies Auxiliary of Mifflintown, in earlier life. She enjoyed spending time with her family, babysitting for grandkids, going to church and sitting out on her porch.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 13,2025 at the Oakland Mills Evangelical Methodist Church, 148 Leonard Road, Oakland Mills, with Rev. Nathanael Mowery officiating. Interment will follow at Goodwill Cemetery, McAlisterville.

A closed casket visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. on Friday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Mrs. Shellenberger's memory to the Oakland Mills Evangelical Methodist Church, 148 Leonard Road, Oakland Mills, PA 17076.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge Street, Mifflintown.
