Amos L. Yoder

Amos L. Yoder, 54, 4776 McAlevy's Fort Road, Petersburg, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at home.

He was born on March 28, 1971, in Belleville, to Joseph and Fannie (Peachey) Yoder. On Sept. 12, 1991, he married Linda J. (Swarey) Yoder, who preceded him in death on Jan. 11, 2024.

Surviving are children, Joyce Byler and husband, Vince, of Belleville, Twila Fisher and husband, Joseph, of Crossville, Tenn., Jacob Yoder and wife, Modesty, of Dublin, Ga., and Rosanna and Kendall Yoder at home; a granddaughter, Eleanor Fisher; siblings, Sylvan Yoder and wife, Lisa, of Missouri, Ben Yoder and wife, Martha, of Huntingdon, Molly Graber and Timothy, Barbara Knepp and husband, Marcus, Joseph Yoder and wife, Kristi, and Ella Mae Sommers and husband, Michael, all of Missouri.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by brothers, Aaron Yoder, John Yoder, and a stillborn brother.

Amos was employed with Yoder Fencing for nearly two decades.

He was a member of the Shavers Creek Christian Fellowship for 29 years.

Amos loved animals and enjoyed raising pigs and always dreamed of having a team of mules. He had a gift for auctioneering. He and his wife loved to go on road trips together, especially to Michigan, and enjoyed their weekly trips to Trader Joes.

A viewing will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at the Valley View Amish Mennonite Church, 110 Applehouse Road, Belleville. The funeral service will be Friday, June 27, 2025, at 9 a.m., also at the Valley View Amish Mennonite Church with Ivan Lapp, John Stoltzfus, and Daryl Peachey officiating. Burial will be at the Locust Grove Cemetery, Belleville.
