P. Wayne Kauffman, 86, of Mount Pleasant Mills, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.
He resided at his daughter Janice's home and was under her care for over a year. He leaves a legacy of faith in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, love, service to others and compassion. He was a friend to many.
Born on April 3, 1939, in Thompsontown, Juniata County, he is the son of the late Roscoe and Bernice (Brubaker) Kauffman.
On Aug. 10, 1963, he married his late wife, Grace A. (Diem) Kauffman, with whom he was blessed to share over 57 years of marriage before her passing on March 8, 2021.
He is survived by a son, Dale Kauffman and wife, Rochelle of Shellman, Ga; two daughters, Joyce Kauffman and Janice Stoltzfus and her husband, Daniel all of Mount Pleasant Mills; eight grandchildren, Daren, Charity, Ethan, Nevin, Braden, and Andrew Kauffman all of Shellman, Ga, Danita Stoltzfus of Mount Pleasant Mills, and Larelle Grace and her husband, Mahlon Brubaker of Port Trevorton; three sisters, June Heller, Shirley Helmuth and her husband, Larry, and Doris Dressler; and many generations of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother in infancy and two brother in law's, Mervin Heller and Rodger Dressler.
Wayne graduated in 1957 from the East Juniata High School in Cocolamus and later earned a degree in Business Administration from Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove in 1964.
Along with his wife, in 1967, they co-founded Kauffman Farm Supply in Mount Pleasant Mills and later established Kauffman Farm Supply in Belleville.
Mr. Kauffman's hobbies included gardening, taking care of his beef cattle, working on his farm, and was musically gifted and enjoyed singing; however, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
He was an inspiration to all those whose lives he touched.
Close family and friends are welcomed for a time of viewing from noon until the time of Wayne's funeral services at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 31 at Beavertown God's Missionary Church, 1693 Creek Road, Middleburg with Bishop Conrad Brubaker officiating and assisted by Pastor David Gingrich and Wayne's son, Dale.
Memorial contributions in Mr. Kauffman's memory can be made to WellSpan Hospice Services, 235 Hospital Dr, Lewisburg, PA 17837 or to a charity of one's choice.
