Jane Louise Fry
Jane Louise Fry, 84, formerly of Thompsontown, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Celebration Villa of Reedsville.
Born Aug. 6, 1940, in Reedsville, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Gladys Mae (Stewart) Miller.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Fry and her brother, James S. Miller. She was the last of her immediate family.
She is survived by: nieces, Sharon Spinelli, of Thorndale and Brenda Dillman and husband, James, of Lewistown; numerous loving great-nieces and great-nephews; and sister-in-law, Suzanne Miller, of Linglestown.
She was a former member of Reedsville U.M.C. and the PSEA-NEA Association. She was a past secretary to Association of Mifflin County Education.
Jane was a 1958 graduate of Kishacoquillas High School, 1962 graduate of Lock Haven State Teachers College, and Penn State University where she received extra credits.
She began her teaching career at Logan Street Elementary from 1962 to 1976, then upon the closing of Logan Street she taught at Buchanan Elementary. Retiring in January 1993 after 30 and a half years of teaching. Jane liked stained glass, cross-stitching, needlepoint, reading and crossword puzzles.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 13, at Juniata Memorial Park cemetery with Rev. Rick Bender officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jane’s name to St. Judes.
Arrangements are under the care of Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.
