Patricia Womeldorf Zook left this world Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025. We rejoice that she has passed on to God's glorious realm and know that she is delighting in the beauty of His Heaven. It is our sincere belief that she has found peace and tranquility with Him.
Pat was born in 1935 in New Bethlehem. As a child she was the only girl cousin in the large Womeldorf family. She had such fond memories of Grandma Womeldorf's kitchen and the big family meals there surrounded by love and the great humor of her uncles and aunts. In future years she was able to pass some of this along to her girls through the annual Labor Day Womeldorf Reunions we had at Ka-Vee Camp in Huntingdon County. What fun!
Through the opening of a new terminal of the family trucking company, Pat found herself in Mifflin County as a high school senior. A few years on, she was intrigued by a new sports car she saw at Wagner's garage and met the driver of the Corvette, Curt Zook. Curt was from Belleville, in the middle of Big Valley, just one mountain over. After a tumultuous courtship, she was convinced to marry, and she and Curt eloped to Virginia and spent their honeymoon at the Smithsonian Institute! The intervening years brought them three daughters, many close friends, tough struggles and wonderful adventures.
Pat loved her home and entertaining there. She had great style and a good eye for dÈcor and fashion. She was an interior decorator and taught classes for a time. Her great love was antiques, and she studied them seriously. For many years she had a booth at Dairyland Antiques Mall and was seen at auctions doing her buying.
Pat also was a member of the Mifflin County Garden Club and served as President of the Belleville Civic Club for a term. She enjoyed being involved with Civic Club and with the Village Pride organization, where she headed up the committee for the planters that were placed around Belleville. Pat served on the Board of the Kishacoquillas Valley Historical Society for a few terms and very much enjoyed the relationships she built there. She participated in two bridge clubs and Book Club. Pat also worked as a secretary at Penn State both at Main Campus and at the DuBois Campus for a time.
In 2012 Pat moved to Lancaster, ultimately settling at Homestead Village retirement community. It was a very nice place, but her heart remained in Big Valley.
Pat is survived by her three daughters: Lisa Z. Kuzdro (married to Ken) of Lancaster, Laurie Zook of Frederick, Md., and Letitia Z. Farwell of Lewistown. She also left behind her fiercely loved grandchildren: Curtis Reo Farwell of Park City, Utah, Joshua Allen Farwell of State College, Eve Elexi Farwell of Phillipsburg, Mo., and Charles Caleb Kuzdro of Lancaster. She was predeceased by a grandson, Robert William Farwell. She was also predeceased by her husband, Charles Curtis Zook, in 2008.
The family has arranged a memorial service for Pat at the West Kishacoquillas Presbyterian Church in Belleville, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday, May 28, at 11 a.m.
