Gale James Lovette, 87, of McClure, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born on March 7, 1938, in Tellico Plains, Tenn., to the late Reuben and Lottie (Dalton) Lovette. On Nov. 12, 2004, he married Dawn M. Lovette, who survives at their home.
Along with his wife, he is survived by children, David Lovette and wife, Laura of Akron, Ohio and Jason B. Lovette of Milroy; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Locke and wife, Veronica Locke of Tucson, Ariz. and Cheyanne Duke and boyfriend, Parker Clark of Burnham; one great-grandchild, Arya Clark; step-children, Maranda L. Brought and companion, Daniel Duboise of Lewistown and Scott E. Brought and wife, Bert Brought of Lewistown; one step-granddaughter that he and his wife raised and also step-daughters, Diamond Brought of Burnham and Morgan Horrell of Florida; and siblings, Randall Lovette, Scotty Lovette, Donnie Lovette and Dan Lovette.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter: Tina Renee Lovette in 1975; and siblings, Raban Lovette, Caroline Lovette, and Bonnie Lovette.
He was employed and retired from the Standard Steel, where he worked in the melt shop.
He enjoyed doing woodworking projects, gardening, watching western movies and TV shows. He also loved his dog, Max. He especially enjoyed helping people and was always there when you needed him.
There will be a visitation on Monday, April 7, 2025, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Henderson-Bohn Funeral Home, 55 N. Main Street, Reedsville, followed by a graveside service at 11 a.m. at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Milroy.
