Samuel E. Lyter, 56, of Lewistown, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Born May 20, 1968, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Charles Lyter Sr. and Edna K. 'Toot' Wolfley, who survives.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lori Lee (Simonetti) Lyter; maternal grandfather, Albert Vega; paternal grandparents, Charles and Hazel Lyter; siblings, Charles Lyter and Michael Wolfley; and step-father, Robert E. Wolfley.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Dora Vega; daughter, Cortney L. Blankenship and husband, Kevin, of Maryland; step-children, April Clark, Ashley Maben, and Brandon Maben; grandchildren, Peyton, Raven, Zaden Blankenship; seven step-grandchildren; and sisters, Steffanie Guether and husband, Thomas and Christinia Laub and husband, Donnie, both of Maitland.
He was a member of City Hook and Ladder.
Sam loved his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, music, and shooting pool for City Hook and Ladder firehouse.
