Ronald W. Colwell

He was preceded in death by his parents, Winfield G. and Margarete L. Colwell, three brothers and one sister, his wife of 54 years, Lorraine (Faust) Colwell, and one great-granddaughter.

He is survived by three sons: Ron (Deb), Greg (Sharon), Dwight and a daughter Kelly, six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Ron started his employment years at O.W. Houts, then on to Penn State, where he worked in the Bakery, the Nittany Lion Inn, the Maintenance Department, and the College of Earth & Mineral Sciences. After retiring from Penn State, he worked for the Weis Store in Bellefonte in the Bakery Department.

In his spare time, he enjoyed beekeeping. He was a member of the PA Beekeepers Association and spent a number of years displaying his honey and bees wax creations at the PA Farm Show. His family and friends looked forward to receiving the “extras” from his baking creations. He was also an avid reader and stamp collector.

The family extends their thanks to all the caretakers at Brookline.

Per his wishes, the services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
