Paul Eugene Orner, 99, of Valley View Haven, Belleville, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025.
He was born on April 6, 1925, in McAlevy's Fort, to the late Ray Orner. On Oct. 24, 1946, he married Betty L. (Shilling) Orner, who preceded him in death on May 14, 2009.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Sandra E. Orner on Nov. 15, 1999, and Connie J. Maben on Dec. 14, 2022, and three brothers.
He is survived by two grandchildren: Stacey Ripple and her husband Richard of Lewistown and Wendy Benson and her husband Brian of McVeytown; four great-grandchildren: Stefani Powell and companion, Shane Dobson, Shawni Schlegel and husband, Dwayne, and Seth and Zane Benson; and seven great-great-grand children.
He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, being honorably discharged in March, 1946. He retired from Mifflin County School District where he worked in the Maintenance Department.
He was a member of the Reedsville Evangelical Lutheran Church.
He and his wife enjoyed camping and took their family almost every weekend. He also enjoyed snowmobiling and hunting.
Per his wishes, there are no services.
Burial will be in the Church Hill Cemetery.
