Norman D. Hoffman

Norman D. Hoffman, 76, of Cocolamus, passed away at 8:28 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at William Penn Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Lewistown.

Born on Oct. 17, 1948, in Danville, Montour County, he is a son of the late George A. Sr. and Mary Alma (Sankey) Hoffman.

He is survived by one sister-in-law, Ruth Hoffman of McAlisterville, many generations of nieces and nephews, and many friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Wilmer, John, Martin, Marlin "Bike", Robert, and George Jr., and one sister, Gladys Leitzel, making him the last of his generation.

Mr. Hoffman attended East Juniata High School in Cocolamus and loved helping out at Evendale Garage, Robert Leitzel Auctioneering, and helping his brothers with farm work.

He was a member and attended when he was able at Niemonds Independent Church and the Richfield Sportsmen's Association.

Norman faithfully attended the Richfield Dutch Days every year and enjoyed butchering, playing cards, going to festivals and fairs, and bowling, where in earlier life he belonged to a bowling league.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Niemonds Independent Church, 36964 Route 35 North, Richfield, with Pastor Ron Berrus and the Rev. Brittin Stimeling officiating. Interment will follow in Niemonds Cemetery, Lauver Valley Road, Richfield.

A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral services at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Hoffman's memory can be made to Niemonds Independent Church – Attn: Cemetery Fund, 36964 Route 35 North, Richfield, PA 17086.
