Marlin L. "Butch" Straub, 81, of Richfield, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at his residence.
Born on Nov. 12, 1943, in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, he is a son of the late Marlin R. and Hilda (Henninger) Straub. On Aug. 27, 1966, he married his surviving wife, Ruth M. (Page) Straub, with whom he was blessed to share over 58 years of marriage before his passing.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons, Tim Straub and his wife, Brenda of Richfield and Shane Straub and his wife, Susan of Cross Fork; four grandchildren, Preston Straub and his wife, Kelly, Harley Straub, Kayla Colorado, and Shane Kuhn and his companion, Sierra; and four great grandchildren. Dominic Straub, Dahlia Kuhn, Azalea Kuhn, and Mateo Colorado.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Reagan Straub and a brother in infancy.
Mr. Straub attended Middleburg High School and was a member of the Richfield Evangelical Methodist Church and recently had attended the Richfield United Methodist Church.
Butch was employed and retired after over 45 years of service to Wood Mode in Kreamer.
He was a member of the Richfield Sportsman's Club and enjoyed attending his grandchildren's activities, mowing, riding his scooter, going to Potter County, woodworking, small engine repair, going to the races at Port Royal and Selinsgrove Speedway, and in earlier life, enjoyed working on sprint cars; however, his greatest joy came from time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and grand puppies.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville with Pastor Brian Myfelt officiating Interment will follow in Richfield Union Cemetery.
A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral services at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Straub's memory can be made to the Richfield Ambulance League, P.O. Box 236, Richfield, PA 17086.
