Stanley Edward McKee

Stanley Edward McKee, 88, of McVeytown, passed away peacefully on Jan. 31, 2025 at William Penn Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
He was preceded by his wife, Evelyn Daryl (Glace) McKee, who died on Sept. 22, 2023. He was also preceded in death by a son, Edward M. McKee and a great granddaughter, Emerie Rhodes.
Surviving children are Stanley A. McKee and wife, Cindy, of McVeytown, Donna McKee Rhodes and husband, Loren, of Huntingdon, Gordon R. McKee and wife, Melissa, of McVeytown. He had six grandchildren: Erica Hayden, Aaron Rhodes, Joel Rhodes, Jon McKee, Ashton McKee, and Montana McKee. He also had four great-grandsons: Jamie and Declan Hayden, and Linden and Eli Rhodes.
Stanley was born Dec. 2, 1936, to the late Thomas M. and Ruth (Snyder) McKee. He was the youngest of six children. He was preceded in death by his siblings, T. Wilson McKee, Virginia M. Smith, Gordon S. McKee and Lynn M. McKee. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Winifred O’ Halloran and husband, James, of Willow Street, Pa.
Stanley was a lifelong farmer. He grew up on the McKee farm in Ferguson Valley, rented a farm in Juniata County for five years, and in 1968 purchased a farm in Ferguson Valley which remains in the family.
He was known as a farmer who offered hospitality to anyone visiting the farm through his offer of a cup of coffee or a glass of iced tea. Stanley had an amazing memory for birthdays and would often think of others through cards and gestures of kindness.
He loved his family, farming, reading, tractors, and auto racing.
He was a faithful member of Spring Run Church of the Brethren.
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, March 1 at 1 p.m. at the Spring Run Church of the Brethren, with Pastors Craig and Kate Gandy officiating. Interment will be private in Mt. Rock Cemetery, Lewistown.
