Marlene H. Fisher

Marlene H. Fisher, 91, of Lewistown, passed away Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025, at Greenwood Village.

Born Oct. 29, 1933, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late James N. and Margaret B. (Clark) Wheeler.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald C. Fisher, who passed Jan. 23, 2016; a brother, Nelson L. Wheeler, and a sister, Margaret Yoder.

She is survived by her daughter, Jill Fisher-Douglass and husband, Dan, of New Cumberland; siblings, Dolores E. Rhodes, Eugene E. Wheeler and wife, Darla, Eileen T. Workinger and husband, Robert, and Thomas R. Wheeler and wife, Linda, all ofewistown.

Marlene was a lifelong member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

She was a 1951 graduate of Lewistown High School.

Earlier in life, Marlene's professional career included roles as a secretary at Leonard for Sports, and a bookkeeper for Krentzman Supply and McCrory's.

Prior to its closure, she was a dedicated and active member of her church community, notably contributing her time and skills to the church kitchen committee. In her leisure time she was a passionate supporter of Penn State athletics, enthusiastically following their basketball, football, and wrestling teams. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed.

A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2025, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with a funeral service to follow at 12 p.m., with Pastor Randy Traxler officiating.

Interment will be held at Juniata Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Marlene's memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
