James K. "Jim" Peachey, 72, of Reedsville, peacefully passed away at his home on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025 surrounded by his family.
Born on March 14, 1952, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Melvin A. and Martina M. (Smith) Peachey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Catherine (Shank) Peachey.
A proud veteran, Jim honorably served in the United States Air Force, a testament to his unwavering commitment to duty and country. He attended Kish Valley Grace Brethren Church in Reedsville,
Earlier in life, he was employed as a truck driver for various companies, later lending his expertise as a dispatcher at Metzler's Forest Products in Reedsville. His commitment to service extended to his role as a Supervisor of Brown Township, where he worked tirelessly to better the lives of those around him.
Jim is lovingly survived by his wife, Jan (Ferguson) Peachey; his step-son, Lucas Bobb of Cortland, NY; his daughters, Jessica Goss and husband Eric, of Milroy and Jennifer Hartzler and husband, Cheston, of Belleville; and his son, Ian Peachey and wife, Abby, of Reedsville. His enduring legacy lives on through his adoring grandchildren, Aaron Goss, Wyatt Bobb, Sophia Bobb, Autumn Goss, Ella Hartzler, Huck Peachey, Oliver Hartzler, Duke Peachey, and Tripp Peachey, great-grandson Wesley Goss, as well as his siblings, LaVern "Toots" Yoder of Clearwater, FL; Lynn Peachey and wife Patricia, of Petersburg, Pa.; and JoAnn Osmun and husband, John, of Frostproof, Fla., along with numerous nieces and nephews.
An avid Penn State football fan, Jim delighted in the simple joys of lifeócherishing family beach trips to the Outer Banks and Sandbridge, relishing camping excursions with friends, and proudly attending his grandchildren's sporting events. His passion for life and deep devotion to family and community will forever be remembered.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2025, from 5 to 8 p.m. at King Funeral Home and Crematory, 47 Carriage House Lane, Reedsville, with an additional viewing on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025, from 10 to 11 a.m. preceding the funeral service. The service will commence at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025, at the funeral home, followed by interment at Salem Cemetery with military honors performed by the United States Air Force.
