Jacob E. Peachey, Sr, 84, of Belleville, passed away on Monday, Feb. 17, 2025, at home.
He was born on April 15, 1940, in Allensville, to the late Emanuel and Mattie (Yoder) Peachey. He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther (Byler) Peachey on April 26, 2024.
Surviving are, children: Sylvanus Peachey and wife, Ida, of Belleville, Jacob E. Peachey, Jr. and wife, Martha, of Belleville, Emanual Peachey and wife, Rachel, of Belleville, Melvin Peachey and wife, Marianne, of Ickesburg, and John Peachey and wife, Esther, of Newport; son-in-law Jonathan Zook and wife, Gertie, of Belleville; 23 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren; sisters: Lydia Peachey of Belleville and Annie Detweiler and husband, Sam, of Rockville Ind.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Swarey and a brother, Daniel Peachey.
He was a carpenter by trade.
He was a member of Old Order Amish Church.
A viewing will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2025, at the Ephraim Peachey residence, 55 Sunset Drive, Belleville. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2025, at 9 a.m. at the same location, officiated by the home ministers. Burial will be held at the Locust Grove Cemetery, Belleville.
