Gary L. "Teddy" Ramsey, 81, of Mifflintown, died at 3 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 10, 2025 at his residence.
Born on Jan. 12, 1944 in Mifflintown, he was the son of the late Ellsworth and Bessie (Whistler) Ramsey. On Oct. 11,1963 he married his wife, Carol L. Ramsey, with whom he was blessed to share more than 52 years of marriage before her passing on June 5, 2016.
He is survived by his sons, Steven G. Ramsey and his wife, Veronica, Jeffrey T. Ramsey and companion, Jamie Feltman, all of Mifflintown; and two grandsons, Jessiah S. Ramsey and companion, Shanda, of Fredericksburg Pa., and Blake R. Ramsey of Mifflintown, as well as various nieces and nephews. Gary was preceded in death by siblings Ellsworth Ramsey, Jr., Richard "Dick" Ramsey, Mary Jane Smith, Janet Swartz, Donald Ramsey and Bertha Wert.
Mr. Ramsey was a 1962 graduate of Juniata Joint High School, and a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Mifflintown. He was also a member of the Union Lodge No. 324 F&AM of Mifflintown, Tall Cedars of Lebanon No. 88, Scottish Rite Valley of Harrisburg AASR, a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 925, Millerstown.
Teddy, along with his family, owned and operated Ramsey's Car Wash I and II, Ramsey's Garage and Ramsey's Trucking, all of Mifflintown.
Gary enjoyed dirt track racing, especially at Port Royal Speedway, going to the Little Store every morning for breakfast and most of all spending time with family.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 21, 2025 from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown with the Pastor Mindy Petrovcic officiating. Interment will be private and in the Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown.
There will be no viewing; however, family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, after which a Masonic Service will be accorded by the Union Lodge No. 324 F&AM of Mifflintown.
