Wanda J. Wagner

Wanda J. Wagner, 82 formerly of Lewistown, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, Jan. 17, 2025 at WellSpan York Hospital. She was the wife of Melvin W. Wagner for 34 years before his passing.

Born on Sept. 12, 1942 in Derry Township, she was a daughter of the late James M. and Geneva M. (Stuck) Ferguson. In addition to her husband and parents, Wanda is preceded in death by six siblings.

Wanda is survived by her children, Kimbra J. Stambaugh and husband, Michael, of York, James M. Wagner and wife, Daun, of Reedsville, Jeffrey A. Wagner, and Eugene W. Wagner; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; seven siblings; three brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.

Wanda was a homebody who loved to spend her time watching old Westerns and playing games on her phone. She took joy in riding her horses and feeding birds. She had a great love for Elvis Presley and would frequently sing along to country music. Most of all, Wanda was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She enjoyed spending time with her family and will be greatly missed.

A viewing will be held from 12-2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025 at King-Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown. The service will begin at 2 p.m. with Pastor Chris Lutz officiating. A private burial will take place at a later date for her to be laid to rest with her husband at Maitland Cemetery.
