Ruth Marie (Benson) Blair

Ruth Marie (Benson) Blair, 77, McVeytown, passed away Monday Jan. 27, 2025, at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital.

Born Feb. 11, 1947, Huntingdon County, daughter of the late Archie and Marjorie (Prough) Benson.

Survived by her loving husband, John A. Blair, whom she married in June 1965. Also survived by her children, SuzAnne M. Moore and husband, Jim, AnnMarie S. Dean and husband, Robert, Russell D. Blair and wife, Tammy;, and LeAnne M. Blair and partner, Becky; nine grandchildren, Joshua, Bryan, Alex, Alan, Benjamin, Tyler, Anna, Kasey, and Garrett; 10 great grandchildren; and three siblings, Janet Bish and husband, Forrest, Paul Benson and wife, Marian, and Darlene Williams and husband, Gary. Preceded in death by an infant sister, Beverly Benson.

Mrs. Blair was a 1965 graduate of Captain Jack High School. She enjoyed sewing and was a seamstress, making, repairing and altering many gowns and dresses in the area. Mrs. Blair attended the Cedar Crest Independent Baptist Church. She liked to tend to her garden and canning.

Family and friend will be received on Friday

Jan. 31, 2025, from 6 p.m. to

8 p.m. and again on Saturday Feb. 1, 2025, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m., all at the Cedar Crest Independent Baptist Church, 106 Pin Oak Ln, Mt Union, PA 17066, Pastor L. James Barton, officiant. Interment to follow at Newton Hamilton Cemetery.
