Keith A. Kratzer, 68, of McAlisterville, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2025 at his residence.
Born on Aug. 17, 1956, in Lewistown, Mifflin County, he is a son of the late Lloyd Harry and Lenna I. (Leister) Kratzer.
He is survived by his brother, Darrell L. Kratzer and his wife, Cheryl, of Havertown; two nieces, Stephanie Lekkas and her husband, Joseph, and Sara Kratzer; and many generations of cousins.
Mr. Kratzer was a graduate of East Juniata High School in Cocolamus and earned a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Penn State University.
In earlier life, Keith was employed as a Lab Technician for both Hershey Foods and Empire Kosher Poultry, Inc.
He was an active member of the Cedar Grove Brethren in Christ Church and enjoyed a lifetime of learning and research. He visited the Mifflintown Library daily. He had a deep understanding of the people in his community and knowledge of how things worked, animals and nature. He was interested in current events and national politics. He also enjoyed seeing and having a coffee with his friends at the Bread of Life restaurant.
He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025 from the Cedar Grove Brethren in Christ Church, 287 Deerville Road, Mifflintown with Pastor Kenneth Hepner officiating. Interment will follow at Richfield Union Cemetery.
A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral services at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Kratzer's memory can be made to the Cedar Grove Brethren in Christ Church, 287 Deerville Road, Mifflintown, PA 17059.
