Janet F. Heath

Janet F. Heath, 93, of North Ridge Center Personal Care in McAlisterville, formerly of Thompsontown, passed away at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025 at the Geisinger Lewistown Hospital. Born on May 7, 1931 in Delaware Twp., Juniata County, she is a daughter of the late Ralph and Tillie (Lantz) Freed. On June 30, 1950, she married her late husband, J. Frederick Heath, with whom she was blessed to share over 62 years of marriage before his passing on July 2, 2012.

She is survived by her children, Dennis F. Heath and his wife, Lois, of Mount Pleasant Mills and Debbie C. Winey and her husband, Guy, of Mount Pleasant Mills; four grandchildren, Stacey Snyder and her husband, Lonnie, Jill Witherite and her husband, Jeffrey, Jason Winey and his wife, Nicole, and Seth Heath and his wife, Amanda; six great grandchildren, Laura McMillen and her husband, Josh, Carson Witherite and his fiancee, Jessica Strouse, Lydia Witherite, Kalyssa Heath, Callen Winey, and Kensi Winey; two great great grandchildren, Isaac McMillen and Ezekiel McMillen; and many generations of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four siblings, Kenneth Freed, Helen Lesher, Ruth Ehrenzeller, and Florence Ranck, making her the last of her generation.

Mrs. Heath was a 1949 graduate of Thompsontown High School and a member of the Thompsontown Global Methodist Church.

She enjoyed bingo and playing Farkle and other card and board games.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025 at the Locust Run Church, 25 Locust Run Road, Thompsontown with the Rev. Donald Walters officiating. Interment will follow at Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Thompsontown.

A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral services at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Mrs. Heath's memory to the Thompsontown Global Methodist Church, 7 W. Main St., Thompsontown, PA 17094, the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N Michigan Ave. Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601 or to the charity of the donor's choosing.
