Edna E. Rarich

Edna E. Rarich, 86, of McClure went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, Jan. 25 at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.

She was born Jan. 30, 1938 in Ringtown, a daughter of the late Claude and Neta (Fuhrman) Horne. On April 19, 1958 she married Robert S. Rarich who preceded her in death on May 7, 2006.

Edna was a graduate of Ringtown High School.

She was a very active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in McClure and was very active in her community also.

Edna was an accomplished seamstress and quilter. She enjoyed playing the dulcimer with the Shade Mountain String Dulcimer Group. Edna was a cat lover and cared for countless neighborhood cats as well as her own.

Surviving are three children, Susan (Michael) Shawver, Darryl (Jamie) Rarich, and Mark (Kathy) Rarich; three grandchildren, Gina (Matthew) Moore, Gregory Shawver and his companion Angela Wedgewood, and Rachel (Jeffrey) Feather; six great-grandchildren, Gage, Evan, Reese, Austin, Alivia and Emma; one brother, Harry Horne; and one sister, Claudine Fuhrman.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, Matthew Rarich; and one brother, Donald Horne.

A viewing will be held on Friday, Jan. 31 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 6 W. Specht St., McClure followed by the funeral service at 11 with Rev. Lisa Schuster officiating.

Burial will follow in McClure Union Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to honor Edna’s memory may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or to a pet shelter of your choice.
