Carrie (Henry) Schmoyer

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Carrie (Henry) Schmoyer on Jan. 23, 2025, at the age of 50. A devoted wife, mother, daughter, and friend, she left this world far too soon, leaving behind a legacy of love, inspiration, and compassion.

Carrie was a devoted wife to her husband, Brian, and mother to her two beloved daughters, Ella and Addie. Her family was the light of her life; her unwavering love and dedication to them will remain a guiding force in their lives.

Carrie dedicated her life to making a difference in the lives of others, serving as a guidance counselor at Spring Grove Area High School for 20 years. Her infectious energy, radiant smile, and unwavering belief in the potential of every student earned her the admiration of colleagues, students, and parents alike. She wasn't just a counselor; she was a confidant, a cheerleader, and a lifeline for countless young people navigating the challenges of life.

She is survived by her loving husband, Brian; her two daughters, Eleanor and Adelaide; her mother, Barbara H. Henry; and a large circle of dear friends. She was preceded in death by Ronald P. Henry (father), Mary Catherine Geibel Hummel (her grandmother she affectionately called Neme), Jeff L. Henry (half-brother), and Doug Henry (half-brother). She will be remembered for her kind heart, her quick wit, and her remarkable ability to make everyone feel seen, heard, and valued.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 31, 2025, from 5 to 8 p.m. as well as Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025, from 9 to 1 a.m. A celebration of Carrie's life will be held on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2025, at 2 p.m. at St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, 839 West Market Street, in York, PA.
