Betty L. Brown, 85, of West Railroad Street, Reedsville (formerly of Church Hill), passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2025, at home.
She was born on May 19, 1939, in Lewistown, to the late Richard and Mildred I. (Leeper) Hagan. She was raised by her late grandparents: Margaret and John Leeper. On June 6, 1959, she married Ronald J. Brown, who preceded her in death in 1999.
Surviving are children: Douglas J Brown and wife, Suzanne, of Upper Marlboro, MD, Vicki Brown-Smith and husband, James A Smith, Jr., of Lewistown, and Brian S. Brown of Reading; eight grandchildren: Rachael Guy and husband, Jason, of Severn, MD, Matthew Brown of Upper Marlboro, MD, Joshua Brown and fiance, Jillian, of Montgomery, TX, Tyler Smith and wife, Courtney, of Reedsville, Christine Damicantonio and husband, Anthony, of Reedsville, Braylon Smith of Lewistown, Trey Smith of Lewistown, and Amber Brown of Reedsville; 10 great-grandchildren: Waylon, Madeline, Kayda, Alanis, Braxton, Cyrus, Peyton, Elizabeth, Destiny, and Andrea.
She graduated from Lewistown High School and was primarily a homemaker and spent all of her life being a loving wife and mother. She helped care for her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many other neighborhood kids.
A special thank you to all of those who helped care for her over the past several years.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
Family will receive friends for a celebration of life on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025, between 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the old Reedsville Firehouse, 171 N. Main Street, Reedsville.
A funeral service will be private at the convenience of the family with Pastor Duane Coy officiating. Burial will take place at the Church Hill Cemetery in Reedsville.
