Dorothy A. Selfridge
Dorothy A. (Yoder) Selfridge, 95, of Reedsville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2024, at Hilltop Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Altoona.
Born on June 11, 1929, in Belleville, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rebecca (Bawel) Zook. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Andrew Yoder; her second husband, C. Glenn Selfridge; a son, Keith Yoder; four half-brothers; a sister; and a great-grandchild, Alli.
Dorothy is survived by her loving children: Kathlyn Damicantonio and her husband, James, of Milroy; Anthony Yoder, of Lewistown; Stanley Yoder and his wife, Mary, of Milroy; and Janet Sollers and her husband, Michael, of Lewistown. She is also remembered fondly by her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren,and great-great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy.
A woman of deep faith, Dorothy was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ and frequently attended services at both Reedsville United Methodist Church and Milroy United Methodist Church.
Dorothy’s many talents and passions enriched her life and the lives of those around her. A skilled seamstress, she often created her own clothing. She found happiness in gardening, cherishing the beauty of flowers, and expressed her love for music by singing her favorite hymns and playing her dulcimers.
A funeral service honoring Dorothy’s life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, December 27, 2024, at King Funeral Home and Crematory, 47 Carriage House Lane, Reedsville, with Pastor Justin Whitenight officiating. Friends and family are invited to a viewing at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Interment will follow at Juniata Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dorothy’s memory may be made to Milroy United Methodist Church, 91 S. Main Street, Milroy, PA 17063.
