Donna E. Stimely, 92, of Lewistown, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2024, at her home.
Born on May 31, 1932, in Yeagertown, she was the daughter of the late Elwood and Emmaline (Woods) Young. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Stimely Jr., with whom she shared a loving partnership until his passing on Feb. 29, 2008.
Donna's cherished family includes her children: Jerry Stimely and his wife, Gwen, of Stormstown, Pa., Douglas Stimely, of Lewistown, and Jennifer Knode and husband, John F., of Lewistown.
She was a proud grandmother to: Laura Gabel and her husband, Rob, Tyler Stimely and his wife, Kathleen, Saryn Locke and her husband, Michael, and Matthew Knode, and a beloved great-grandmother to: Emmaline Gabel, Tucker Stimely, and Levi Stimely.
Donna is also survived by her brother, Dennis Young, and his wife, Karen, of McClure.
A lifelong woman of faith, Donna was a devoted member of Yeagertown United Methodist Church, where she served faithfully as financial secretary and pianist.
Earlier in life, she was employed at the American Viscose. Together with her husband, she played a vital role in operating Harry F. Stimely Electrical, demonstrating steadfast dedication and a strong work ethic. Donna's life was marked by her boundless compassion and willingness to help anyone in need. She especially treasured attending her grandchildren's events, which brought her immense joy.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2024, at King Funeral Home and Crematory, 47 Carriage House Lane, Reedsville, with Rev. Thomas Morningstar officiating. A visitation will precede the service from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Interment will follow at Birch Hill Cemetery.
