Thomas E. Shirey Jr., 60, of Lewistown, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2024.
He was born on Nov. 8, 1963 in Lewistown to Thomas E. Shirey, Sr. and wife, Connie, of Lewistown and Brenda C. (Wagner) Shirey and step-father, David W. Ritchey of McVeytown.
Surviving is a daughter, Tess N. Shirey of Port Royal; step-children: Amanda S. Youtzy and husband, John, of McVeytown, Holly M. Landis and companion, David O'Donnell, of Walnut, James N. Landis and fiance', Jocelyn Sowers, of Lewistown, Emily E. Landis and fiance', Joshua Spicer, of State College; seven grandchildren: Maddie, Kenzie, Colton, Lilly, and Jack Youtzy, James N. Landis, Jr., Kamron Sweitzer; siblings: Steven Todd Shirey of Lewistown and Tracey Gibson and husband, Rick, of Burnham; nieces and nephews: Brendan Gibson, Steven Gibson, Troy Shirey and Tonya Yoder.
He was a 1981 graduate of Lewistown High School and also graduated in 1981 from the Vo-Tech School in Autobody. He also obtained various certificates in telecommunications. He was a life-long autobody mechanic and owned and operated his own business, Shirey's Auto Repair. Most recently he was employed at First Quality in Lewistown.
He was very passionate about cars, trains and racing. His daughter Tess was his pride and joy and he would tell you she was his biggest accomplishment. He enjoyed going camping and spending time with his family.
There will be a viewing on Monday, Nov. 4, 2024 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Henderson-Bohn Funeral Home, 55 N. Main Street, Reedsville.
