Pauline E. Weaver, 96, of McAlisterville passed away at home on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024
Born Feb. 1, 1928 in Oakland Mills, Fayette Township, she was the daughter of the late William D. and Hazel S. (Shelley) Graybill. Her husband, David W. Weaver died July 10, 2010.
She is survived by four sons, David Weaver and wife, Miriam, Donald Weaver and wife, Lillian, both of Mifflintown, Vernon Weaver and wife, Rachel, of McAlisterville and Allen Weaver and wife, Kathryn, of Mifflintown; two daughters, Elaine Hart and husband, Melvin, of McAlisterville, and Rebecca Weaver and husband, Ivan, of Elverson, 17 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, one sister, Helen Hoffman and one brother, William Graybill and wife, Lois, also a brother-in-law, Jacob Gehman, and many generations of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one great-grandson, one brother and sister-in-law, Elvin and Ruth Graybill, a sister, Olive Gehman, and a brother-in-law, James Hoffman.
Before marriage Pauline was employed at the East Salem Shirt Factory and after she was married, along with her husband, they became farmers. Mrs. Weaver was a member of the Delaware Mennonite Church, where she supported her husband's role as minister. She was involved in the sewing circle and taught Sunday school and summer bible school. Pauline was an avid quilter and enjoyed gardening.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2024, from the Delaware Mennonite Church, East Salem, with Pastor David Gingrich and Pastor Glenn Hosler officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
A viewing will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, Nov. 11, 2024, at the church.
