John T. Foxx, 82 of Reedsville, passed into the arms of his loving Savior on Saturday, November 9, 2024. He was born on January 21,1942 in Front Royal, Va. to the late Taylor L. and Ruth (Benner) Foxx. He graduated from Chief Logan in 1961. He attended Shenandoah College in VA and proudly served in the United States Air Force for four years.
John was married to the love of his life, Barbara (Goss) Foxx for over 57 years. Along with being a wonderful, loving husband, he was an incredible Father, Grandfather, and Friend to all. He was selfless, gentle, kind and made everyone feel special. John retired from Beneficial Finance Co. in State College. He was currently employed by Pennian Bank in Mifflintown and Rickenbaugh Building Supply of McAlisterville.
John enjoyed Penn State football, Penn State wrestling and hunting, but his Love for God and his Church was his first priority. John was a faithful member of the Lewistown Assembly of God Church, where he proudly served as treasurer, usher, and valued board member.
John is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; son, Daniel Foxx, Sr. (Deann); grandson, Daniel Foxx, Jr.; sister, Karen Hopple (John) of Lewistown; sisters-in-law, Donna Knepp and Susan Weddle (Bob); nieces and nephews, John Knepp (Michelle) of Lewistown, James Knepp (Beverly) of Mifflintown, Jennifer McCarter (James) of Reedsville, Sherri Shoemaker (William) of Lewistown, and Christa Hopple of Indiana; and numerous great nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly. John is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, John Knepp.
A receiving of friends will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14 and 10-11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 15 at the Lewistown Assembly of God Church, 160 Summit Drive, Lewistown, Pa. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. at the Lewistown Assembly of God Church on Friday with Pastor Kirk Nagel and Pastor Dennis Sproull officiating. King Funeral Home & Crematory of Reedsville oversees arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lewistown Assembly of God Church. We also ask that if you are a member of a local church, take a moment to serve in some capacity, just like John would.
