Edna R. Bachman

Edna R. Bachman, 83, of Beaver Springs went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday Nov. 1 at Rolling Hills Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Milmont.

She was born Aug. 30 1941 in Sunbury. A daughter of the late Henry R. and Ruth Hoffman Walter. On June 29, 1958, she married Kenneth E. Bachman, who survives.

Edna had been employed at the Middleburg Cannery, Saylors Shirt Factory, Leo's Restaurant, Rayauda's restaurant and was also an Avon representative and did babysitting and housekeeping for area families.

She faithfully attended Baker's Church, McClure and faithfully read her Bible. She enjoyed going to yard sales, going on car rides to gaze at the beauty of the trees.

She will be remembered as a fabulous cook, especially for her fried chicken, stuffing and salmon cakes. She loved giving little children dollar bills to see the look on their faces.

Surviving, in addition to her husband of 66 years, are a son, Tim and his wife, Kay Bachman, of Middleburg; a daughter, Tamara and her husband, Todd Weirick, of Middleburg; three grandchildren, Lee Bowers, of Allentown, Monica Strocko, of Selinsgrove, and Jada Shaffer, of Sunbury; four great-grandchildren, Skyla and Lilly Anna Strocko, and Phoebe and Chloe Johnston; her sister Hilda Benner, of Black Lick; a brother, Clair and his wife, Jolene Walter, of Middleburg; and a brother in law, Charles Klingler, Selinsgrove, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Bobby Walter, Ralph Walter Jr. and his wife, Mary, Mahlon Walter and his wife, Bertha and her twin brothers in infancy; sisters, Dolly Klingler, Aida Mitchell and her husband, Richard, and Eleanor Wolfe and her husband, William; a brother-in-law, Ray Benner; brothers and sisters-in-law, Leon and Betty Mulaney, Phyllis and Donald McNeir, Blaine and Linda Bachman; and her father and mother-in-law, Bruce and Sara Bachman.

A viewing will be held Wednesday Nov. 6 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Bakers Church, at the corner of Ulsh Gap Road and Fairview road McClure, followed by the funeral at 11 with the Rev. Kathy Mercado and Rev. Jim Jacobs. Burial will be in the Black Oak Ridge Cemetery, McClure.
