Born on Dec. 9, 1939 in Tuscarora Township, Juniata County on the farm, he was the son of the late Edgar S. and Mildred S. (Pannebaker) Hutchinson.
Surviving are his siblings: Mabel Stimely, of Lewistown, and Jeannie Jones, of Mifflin; many generations of nieces and nephews, as well as three great nephews who thought of him like a grandfather: Dakota, Austin, and Heath.
Seven brothers: James, Paul, John, Max, Glenn, Larry, and Robert Hutchinson; and a sister, Mary Hutchinson, preceded him in death.
He was a member of the Juniata County Coon Hunters Club. Donald was an avid coon hunter, traveling to many states to do so. He enjoyed sitting in his car and reading his Bible. Donald was a Penn State fan and a Keith Kauffman racing fan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, racing, and farming, you couldn’t keep him off a tractor. He worked on the family farm, the Lazy H, alongside his nephews and giving them ideas.
Donald was employed as a pipeliner through the Union 798 where he worked from Maine to the Mid-West for sixty years. His nick name on the pipeline was the “Van Man” because he always slept in his van.
