Debra A. Smoker
Debra A. Smoker, 80, of Lewistown, entered into the eternal embrace of her Lord and Savior on Thursday, Nov. 28, 2024.
Born on Jan. 15, 1944, in Lewistown, Deb was the cherished daughter of the late Walter J. Downing, Jr., and Annis L. (Mellott) Downing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Smoker, Jr.; her precious granddaughter, Nikeisha Walker; her great-grand- daughter, Audrina Rattanavongsa; and her dear sister, Annis “Twink” Downing.
Deb leaves behind a legacy of love through her devoted children: Sherry Thompson and husband Robert of Burnham; Clifford Kerstetter, III, and wife Jan of Reedsville; Michael Kerstetter and wife Shannon of Northeast; and Beth McNemar and husband Jamie of Lewistown. She was the proud grandmother of Brittany Picketts (Chad), Jessica Walker (Frank Thomas), Clint Walker (Glynnann), Hannah Kerstetter (Hunter Wright), Halle Kerstetter (Brian Yetter), and Paxton and Owen Kerstetter. Her great-grandchildren, Decker Treaster, Kai and Koa Thompson, Onyx Hummel, and Adilyn, Sloan, and Annistyn Picketts, were her greatest joy and constant source of pride.
Deb dedicated many years to her work at GE in Lewistown, where she was a valued member of the shipping department until her retirement. A woman of faith and service, she was a longtime member of Rhodes Memorial United Methodist Church and most attended The Rock Church in Milroy.
Known for her warm smile and boundless generosity, Deb enriched her community through her volunteer work at the Lumina Center, the Shelter Thrift Store, and Shelter Services of Mifflin and Juniata Counties. She cherished time spent camping and socializing with her family and friends, creating countless treasured memories. Her resilience, fierce independence, and unwavering positivity left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Deb’s light will continue to shine through the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the faith she carried. May her memory be a blessing
In accordance with her wishes, no services will be held.
Arrangements have been entrusted to King Funeral Home and Crematory, 47 Carriage House Lane, Reedsville, PA 17084.
