Ronald A. Hesser, 87, of McVeytown, passed away at his home surrounded by family on Friday, Oct. 11, 2024. He was the loving husband to Alice (Varner) Hesser for 66 years.
Born on April 30, 1937 in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Aaron and Helen (Moist) Hesser. In his early years, Ronald worked for HO Andrews. He then went to work for Mifflin County School District and Yoder Tourways. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Ronald was also a big supporter of St. Jude Children's Hospital.
In addition to his wife, Ronald is survived by children: Ronald Varner and wife, Theresa, of Lewistown, Buck Hesser of Montana, Sandy Sheeler and companion, Joe Muir, of McVeytown, Lori Hesser and companion, Paul Krepps, of McVeytown, Susan Hesser and companion, Mitch Schaeffer, of Centre Hall, and Steven Hesser and wife, Michelle, of McVeytown; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; sister, Donna Varner and husband, David; several nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Mary and Sarah Hesser; and family friends, Dave and Nancy Seaholtz and their family.
Including his parents, Ronald is preceded in death by brothers, Darle and Richard; a great- grandson; and a grand daughter-in-law.
The family thanks the Geisinger staff at Advanced Medical, 365 Hospice, and NuVisions Center for their dedicated care and service. A special thank you to granddaughter, Brandy, for helping with his care.
Per his wishes, there will be no services. Ronald is to be buried at Ryde Cemetery. King-Barr Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
