Matthew J. Griffith, "Griff," 32, of Lewistown passed away at his mothers home surrounded by loved ones on Aug. 14, 2024.
He was born in Lewistown to his mother Andrea (Griffith) Houser.
He is survived by his stepfather Ken Houser and his brother Atom Hasson.
He is preceded in death by his sister Elizabeth Griffith-Hasson and his great grandmother far far away (Mary Dolin).
Matthew graduated from Lewistown high school in the last graduating class of 2011. During high school, he participated in track, football , and many other clubs. With his good friend Zach, he helped start the lacrosse team for Mifflin County Huskies. Matthew was a fire fighter for Junction Fire House, he was in the army, and Matthew was a Correction Officer at SCI Benner Prison in State College for close to five years.
During his free time Matthew enjoyed driving his truck he named Blackjack, video games, going on hikes, hunting, mountain rides and most of all spending time with family and friends. He was such a loving and caring person.
Matthew James will be deeply missed.
